An adult male received a life threatening gunshot wound during an incident at the Colleton Heights Apartments at 100 Sniders Hwy. (SC Hwy 63) Wednesday afternoon April 24. Law Enforcement Officers cleared the scene and controlled the bleeding on the patient until Firefighter-Paramedics arrived. The patient was found near the “G” Building. Crews treated the patient and administered IV Fluids prior to transporting him to the helipad at Colleton Medical Center in Fire-Rescue Medic 26. He was transferred to the Flightcrew of CARE Flight, then flown to the Trauma Center at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston. The Walterboro Police Department is investigating the incident.
